Not all of our activities are income generating.

The DNAbiotec® Team has contributed time and efforts towards the following committees in the past:

  • National Biotechnology Advisory Committee (NBAC) of the National Advisory Committee on Innovation (NACI). The committee advises the minister of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) of South Africa on national biotechnology strategy.
  • Advisory board of the Institute for Cellular and Molecular Medicine (ICMM) of the University of Pretoria.
  • BioEconomy Strategy Steering Committee, convened by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) of South Africa to compile a BioEconomy Strategy for South Africa.
  • Board of the eGoli BIO Life Sciences Incubator.
  • Advisory board of the Institute for Cellular and Molecular Medicine (ICMM) of Netcare.
  • Advisory board of the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), Department of Biotechnology and Food Technology.
  • Advisory Council of the North American Malignant Hyperthermia Registry of the Malignant Hyperthermia Association of the USA (MHAUS).
  • Forensic Science Specialist Technical Committee (STC) of the South African National Accreditation Standard (SANAS).
  • Medical Laboratory Specialist Technical Committee (STC) of the South African National Accreditation Standard (SANAS).
  • Professional Committee for Forensic Science of the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP).
  • Sub-Committee of the Medical Specialist Technical Committee of the South African National Accreditation Standard (SANAS) – with the task of creating a standard for accreditation in Molecular Biology.
